Publish Link Window
The Publish Link window is simply a wrapper around the Facebook condensed status update page. It allows you to quickly post a status update to your wall which includes a link to another website. The Publish Link window is shown when you drag and drop a link from your web browser, e-mail program, (or other compatible application) onto the Main window. You can drag and drop links directly from a web page, or from the web browser address bar.
Post Link to Wall Window
Notice the lock image to the left of the Publish button. This lets you specify the privacy of the post – who is going to see this post. For example, if you want to share a status update to remind your friends to RSVP to Susan’s surprise party, you can exclude Susan from seeing that post.
Your status will appear on your profile, and can appear in News Feed depending on your Facebook privacy settings.
The link you have included will be clickable by those reading your status update.
